TAR UMT × Cisco NetAcad MoU Commemorative Ceremony
On 8 June 2026, TAR UMT Pahang Branch successfully held the Opening Ceremony of the Youth Empowerment Programme (YEP) 2026 alongside the TAR UMT × Cisco NetAcad MoU Commemorative Ceremony, marking the official launch of this year’s YEP series and reaffirming the university’s commitment to industry collaboration and digital skills development.
The ceremony commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Tan Ying Yi, Branch Head of TAR UMT Pahang Branch, followed by a speech from Mr. Adri Gautama, Indonesia NetAcad Business Development Manager overseeing Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei. The programme also featured the screening of the TAR UMT corporate video and a recap video of YEP 2025, before proceeding to the MoU commemorative ceremony and photography session.
The opening ceremony was attended by 113 students and 2 chaperones from Kolej Tingkatan Enam Astana, Kuantan, who subsequently participated in the various YEP 2026 workshops. The event symbolised TAR UMT Pahang Branch’s continued dedication to empowering youth through meaningful industry partnerships, experiential learning opportunities, and the development of future-ready skills.
TAR UMT × Focus Electrical Malaysia Sdn Bhd MoU Commemorative Ceremony
On 26 August 2026, the Youth Empowerment Programme (YEP) organised two workshops, “Build Car Racing Game using WebGL” and “Building Foundations: A Career in Early Childhood Education,” at TAR UMT Pahang Branch.
The programme began with an opening ceremony at the Multipurpose Hall, featuring speeches by Ms Tan Ying Yi, Branch Head of TAR UMT Pahang Branch, and Mr Ong Teik Leong, Director of Focus Electrical Malaysia Sdn Bhd, followed by an MoU commemorative ceremony between TAR UMT and the company. Ms Sam Lee Fen, Head of HR & Administration, also shared that Focus Electrical Malaysia Sdn Bhd will be conducting electrical-related workshops under Youth Empowerment Programme (YEP) next year, while offering internship and job placement opportunities to TAR UMT students.
The “Build Car Racing Game using WebGL” workshop was coordinated by Ts. Abdul Halim Bin Abdul Rahman, IT Lecturer, while the “Building Foundations: A Career in Early Childhood Education” workshop was coordinated by Daphnee Soo Xian-Wen, Early Childhood Education Lecturer.
A total of 39 participants attended the programme, including 34 students from SMK Tanah Puteh, three participants from TAR UMT and two members of the public.
