TAR UMT has a proud history of being one of the oldest academic institutions in Malaysia, with a rich history since 1969. As you browse through our website, you will get an idea of what being a TARCian is all about.

For more than 50 years, we have been at the forefront of providing students with a learning experience that goes Beyond Education. As an emblem of academic excellence for over five decades, we have produced more than 290,000 alumni, who are highly trained professionals and thriving in their respective roles.

Moving forward, our vision to become a leading university capable of transforming the future is guided by our 10-Year Roadmap. Apart from intensifying our academia-industry collaborations and research through extensive partnerships especially within the ASEAN region, physical developments of the campus are also underway. One such example is our Student Centre, set to be completed in the near future, which would be the central hub for all student activities. With comprehensive facilities, the Student Centre will cater not only to educational needs but also the recreational needs and welfare of students to encourage active participation in out-of-classroom activities. Synergising the functions of the Student Centre is the SME Centre - a one-stop centre that aims to bring together the SMEs and the support ecosystem, working towards achieving common goals for the betterment of the SMEs and the wider community.
