Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
TAR UMT and UNIMAL Strengthen International Academic Collaboration with MoU Signing
Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT), Malaysia, and Universitas Malikussaleh (UNIMAL), Indonesia, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance global academic collaboration between the two institutions. This partnership aims to foster knowledge sharing, academic development, and industry engagement on an international scale.
The MoU establishes a framework for collaborative research, joint academic activities, staff and student exchanges, and mobility programs to provide valuable cross-border learning experiences. Both institutions are committed to strengthening global ties in education by supporting initiatives that promote cultural appreciation, research innovation, and long-term academic cooperation.
TAR UMT and UTI Forge International Academic Partnership with MoU Signing
Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT), Malaysia, and Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia (UTI), Indonesia, formalized their commitment to international academic collaboration through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This partnership aims to foster academic excellence, knowledge exchange, and cross-border cooperation between the two institutions.
The MoU sets the foundation for joint research initiatives, academic and industry-related collaborations, staff and student exchange programs, and global mobility opportunities. Both universities are dedicated to enhancing international engagement by creating avenues for educational growth, cultural understanding, and research innovation, strengthening their roles as globally connected institutions.
Activities

Youth Empowerment Programme 2024
Youth Empowerment Programme (YEP) is a collaborative project between TAR UMT Pahang Branch and industry partners to reach out to the Youth and local community in Pahang. It consists of a series of hands-on activities such as workshops and training, with the aims to give back to the community by empowering the Youth and the local community.
In the year 2024, YEP has successfully conducted 15 activities with a remarkable turnout of 681 enthusiastic participants.
Vaccinating Our Kids: A Study on The Parental Knowledge on Childhood Vaccination in Pahang, Malaysia by Playing Educational Card Game
The collaboration with Universitas Malikussaleh for this research grant involves Mr. Muhammad Iqbal as a co-researcher in the study titled "Vaccinating Our Kids: A Study on The Parental Knowledge on Childhood Vaccination in Pahang, Malaysia by Playing Educational Card Game." This project, led by Ms. Nur Hidayahtul Nabihah Binti Manas from TAR UMT Pahang Branch, spans two years (1 June 2024 – 31 May 2026) with a total funding of RM 30,309.96. The inclusion of Universitas Malikussaleh in this research strengthens international academic cooperation, particularly in the areas of public health education and gamification as a learning tool.
Youth Festival 2024
Youth Festival 2024 is a socializing event where young people can participate in various activities that are held during the event. This event is to reach out to the youth community in Kuantan, Pahang, establish local networking between TAR UMT, community and industry, promote TAR UMT (Pahang Branch) to public and secondary schools in Kuantan, Pahang and achieve United Nations SDG goal 3: To ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all ages. The following are the activities: Badminton Tournament, Career Day as Early Childhood Practitioner, Chess Tournament, Colouring Competition, Dance Workshop, Digital Drawing Workshop, Entrepreneurship Challenge, Escape Room, Kids Fashion, Netball Competition, Pre-Loved Market, Tech Camp (Robotic), VR & AI Gaming Expo. There were a total of 60,000 people joining our event and it was visited by Sultan Pahang & Tengku Ampuan Pahang.
Ethics for Work
On 12 March 2024, TAR UMT Pahang Branch organized an insightful Guest Lecture on "Ethics for Work" for students enrolled in ABBDM1123 Principles of Management. The session, held via Google Meet, featured Dr. Mohd. Heikal, S.E., MM, from Universitas Malikussaleh, Aceh, Indonesia, as the esteemed speaker.
During the lecture, Dr. Mohd. Heikal shared valuable insights on workplace ethics, professional integrity, and ethical decision-making in business environments. This session provided students with a deeper understanding of ethical principles and their importance in management and leadership.
The guest lecture was a valuable learning opportunity, enhancing students' knowledge and preparing them for ethical challenges in their future careers.
Sustainability in Goods Distribution
On 18 April 2024, TAR UMT Pahang Branch organized a Guest Lecture on "Sustainability in Goods Distribution" via Google Meet. The session featured Prof. Dr. Ir. Herman Fithra ST., MT., IPM., ASEAN. ENG., Rector of Universitas Malikussaleh, Aceh, Indonesia, as the distinguished speaker.
Prof. Dr. Herman Fithra provided valuable insights into sustainable logistics, focusing on environmentally friendly distribution practices, supply chain efficiency, and the role of technology in reducing carbon footprints. The session aimed to enhance students' understanding of sustainability challenges and strategies in modern goods distribution.
This lecture was an enriching learning experience, equipping students with essential knowledge to navigate sustainability issues in logistics and supply chain management.
Personal Finance Basics and Investing
On 26 March 2024, TAR UMT Pahang Branch successfully hosted a webinar on Personal Finance Basics and Investing via Google Meet. The session featured insightful presentations by Mr. Afif Aizuddin Bin Abdillah and Mr. Amar Fadhi Bin Roslan from Co-Op Bank, who shared valuable knowledge on budgeting, saving, debt management, and investment strategies.
Open to all students and staff, the talk was compulsory for DAC, DBU, RAF, and RBU students and the session aimed to equip participants with essential financial literacy to make informed financial decisions and build a strong foundation for future financial independence.
Idea X Colloqium 2024
On 25 May 2024, TAR UMT Pahang Branch successfully hosted the IdeaX Colloquium 2024, an inclusive platform for academicians and students to engage in cross-disciplinary discussions from diverse fields, including Information Technology, Accounts, Supply Chain and Logistics, e-Marketing, and Social Sciences.
Mr. A. Yudi Wahyudin from Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia participated as a panel speaker, sharing insights on “Global Perspectives: Exploring Student Exchange Programs.” His session highlighted the impact of international mobility on academic and career development, encouraging students to embrace global learning opportunities.
Held in a hybrid format, IdeaX Colloquium 2024 reinforced TAR UMT’s commitment to fostering global collaboration and academic excellence.
Field Trip to Menara Great Eastern
The purpose of the field trip to Great Eastern Kuala Lumpur is to provide students with industry exposure, networking opportunities, practical application of classroom learning, inspiration, and motivation, thereby aligning seamlessly with the university's commitment to a well-rounded education and contributing to the development of industry-ready graduates. This program is planned to be hold physically at Menara Great Eastern, Jalan Ampang on 16th April 2024 (Tuesday), 7.30am to 11.00pm.
Scholarship Briefing
On 4 May, 2024, Eastern Steel Sdn Bhd from Kemaman conducted a talk about scholarships offered for the students of Bachelor’s Degree. This scholarship program is design to explore potential students in the programme “Bachelor of Business (Honours) Accounting and Finance”. Eastern Steel Sdn Bhd introduced their company and its facilities to give students a better understanding of their company. They also provided information regarding the career opportunities in their company after completing the studies.
