Technical Storage Server Training
On 13th August 2022, TAR UC Pahang Branch and ServerWare Sdn Bhd conducted a Technical Storage Server Training. With two invited speakers from IT companies, AMD and Seagate, this training allowed the participants to learn how to build from scratch raid systems, high-capacity network-attached storage (NAS), and storage area network (SAN) to make it accessible to multiple users. At the end of the training, the participants also learned to secure their storage system to protect their data and prevent data breaches by other parties. In short, during this training, the participants learned not only the theories but also practical (hands-on) with a bonus of industry insights on the IT industries.
Digital Publication
On 4-5 June 2022, TAR UC Pahang Branch and MSGA Sdn Bhd conducted an E-book Camp for the academic staff. This camp provided knowledge and guidance to the participants in creating and publishing e-books. Participants also learnt how they could achieve their KPI and generate passive income in various ways related to publishing e-books.
Mastering Basic Mandarin Webinar
The Mastering Basic Mandarin Webinar was held on 27 August 2022 via Zoom, featuring Nadia Nawawi from Fasih Mandarin Sdn Bhd as the speaker. This interactive session introduced participants to fundamental Mandarin skills, including the Pinyin system, basic greetings, self-introduction, numbers (1-100), and days of the week. The webinar provided a great opportunity for learners to develop essential language skills and build confidence in using Mandarin for everyday communication.
The 1st Youth Empowerment Conference 2022 @ Youth Festival 2022
The Youth Empowerment Conference 2022, held on 17 June 2022 at TAR UC Pahang Branch, featured a forum titled "Career Path for Youth Tomorrow." The session brought together esteemed speakers, including Nadia Nawawi from Fasih Mandarin Sdn Bhd, Nurliana Binti Muhammad (National Youth Icon 2020), and Nur Isnani Binti Sidek from Maxis East Coast. They shared valuable insights on career development and the benefits of learning a second language for career advancement. The forum provided an engaging platform for participants to enhance their soft skills, expand their networks, and gain industry-relevant knowledge to shape their future careers.
FMxTARUC Reaction Video Project
The FMxTARUC Reaction Video Project was a collaborative initiative between Fasih Mandarin Sdn. Bhd. and TARUC Pahang Branch, where native Mandarin-speaking students from TARUC reacted to assignment videos created by Fasih Mandarin students. The project aimed to assess the Mandarin-speaking proficiency of non-native learners from a native speaker’s perspective.
The recording sessions featured six participants, including one host and five student reactors, who provided their feedback on three Mandarin-speaking videos. They shared insights on pronunciation, fluency, and comprehension, offering an authentic evaluation of the learners’ progress. The project also encouraged discussions on the experiences of non-native speakers learning Mandarin and strategies to support their learning journey.
This initiative provided a valuable cross-cultural learning experience, highlighting the impact of structured language education while fostering a deeper appreciation for Mandarin as a third language.
Life of an IT Solution Engineer Webinar
TAR UC Pahang Branch has organized the industrial talk for their students regarding the life of an IT solution engineer. This half day webinar is conducted on Thursday, 21st July 2022 starting at 2:00PM. The speaker from this webinar is Mr Samuel Quek Leng Beng from Lambda Technologies Sdn Bhd, which based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. He has been in the IT industry for the past 2 decades involving in Dot.com era to banking and customer service industries. At present, he is the Senior Project Director of Lambda Technologies Sdn Bhd which core business in the customer experience space, data networking and IT turn key solutioning services. Mr Samuel has shared his professional expertise and experience regarding the Internet of Things (IoT). At the end of the webinar, Mr Samuel is looking forward to have the students majoring in Computer Science or IT as an intern at his company.
